“BusanMoCA Platform” is an annual exhibition launched in 2023, serving as a showcase for ongoing social reflection and discourse on the environment and ecosystems as we navigate a transformative global era. Following the inaugural exhibition, 2023 BusanMoCA Platform_ Ingredients Mining, which explored the primal relationship between nature and humanity, this year’s exhibition, 2024 BusanMoCA Platform_ I’m sorry Dave I’m afraid I can’t do that, expands the narrative to address the sustainability of future environments, emphasizing the convergence of digital intelligence technologies and the tangible connections between people and their surroundings. Centering its composition around new technological convergence media artworks across interactive media art, crypto art, AI art, data sculptures, games, and videos, the exhibition combines the format of its existing contest-based selections and invited works by overseas as well as domestic artists. As we witness the redefinition of physical perception and emotional boundaries regarding “actual reality” in the age of augmented humanity, the creative coexistence and fusion of AI's predictive capabilities with human sensitivity expand the overarching theme of “environment and ecology,” presenting experiences of “new connections and empathy.”
